Japanese vs. US power issues

Hey, I was looking over the MZ-N10 (I WANT IT!) and thinking about the power differences between international models and the US model. Now the MZ-N10 needs a 6V adaptor, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't slightly older (as in 4 years ago) sony portable cd players come with 6V adaptors? If I had one (which i think I do), could I buy a japanese MZ-N10, download the english sonicstage 1.5, use my 6V sony US adaptor, and then have, essentially, the US model? Is there some sort of internal difference in MD players concerning different power sources, or is it all in the adaptor? the pic of the adaptor on the MZ-N10 equipment page looks like the plug on it resembles normal sony cd portable plugs. I dunno, I'm just curious...plus I don't want to have to wait for the MZ-N10 to reach the US. living in the US can be such a pain in the ass sometimes...we're the last to get cool electronics, we can't get a bunch of really cool cars (i.e. Nissan Skyline), plus George W. is just a pain in the ass...
